About the event

Join me for a very special visit to The House of McIlhatton, a rare opportunity to step inside the home associated with the man whose story became part of local legend.

McIlhatton was remembered across the Glens for his connection to illicit poitín making and the colourful stories that grew around his life. His name was later immortalised in the song “McIlhatton”, written by Bobby Sands and famously recorded by Christy Moore.

During this intimate 2 hour photography visit I’ll explore the story of the man behind the myth, the history of the house, the folklore surrounding McIlhatton, and how his story went on to become part of Irish musical history.

Places are strictly limited to 10 people per photography tour giving photographers extended access to document the interior at a slower pace.
