Built in the early 19th century, this mansion was home for generations to the Auchinleck family, later known as the Darlings through inheritance.

The family had strong military ties. Major Auchinleck retired here after army service, while his grandson, Captain Daniel George Harold Auchinleck of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was killed at Ypres in 1914.

Their son, Gerald “Bunny” Darling, a former Royal Navy Reserve officer and later Deputy Lieutenant of Tyrone, inherited the house in 1958. the house remained in the family until the early 2000s, before slipping into decline.

From landed gentry to soldiers, from prestige to abandonment, this grand mansion reflects how private homes here were shaped by war, service, and time.
