The Forgotten Pyramid

I was just told about this Pyramid on Friday. I jumped into the car and traveled to the location because I couldn't believe that we had a Pyramid in a forest in Northern Ireland and I just had to see it for myself! I wasn't disappointed and what an interesting back story too.

🔺Built for a Lord Canning in the early 1800s as his burial chamber

🔺 He got inspired for the build after he did a tour of Egypt

🔺 The pyramid is 18ft at the base and 21 foot high

🔺 His wish of being buried in it was not fulfilled and in recent years the chamber was bricked up and sealed

Quite a unique piece of history for our wee country. Does anyone know exactly why he wasn't buried in it, I can't find any information online. DM me.
